This week has been pivotal for the black rights’ movement, following the death of African-American George Floyd, which has led to riots and protests across the USA.
The 46-year-old was restrained by police in Minneapolis when he suffered a cardiac arrest, due to a white police officer, Derek Chauvin, kneeling on his neck and restricting his airways.
Floyd was only approached by police after a shopkeeper suspected him of using a fake $20 (£16) note, with the outcome of the incident wildly outweighing the severity of the supposed crime. As a result, this has sparked outrage all over the globe about police killings of black Americans, leading to civil unrest in many cities across the US.
It has not just touched a nerve with Americans, as people, including celebrities, the world over have been supporting #BlackLivesMatter to put an end to racism.
