With the trade event in-cosmetics Global due to take place at the beginning of April, many people in the industry have been making predictions about what trends will be big in the world of cosmetics this year.
Cosmetics Business recently revealed some of the topics that will be covered by the Marketing Trends presentations planned for the event that will run from 2 to 4 April.
One area that brands need to focus on is inclusivity, Jamie Mills, senior analyst at GlobalData, will argue, for instance.
Sam Farmer, of Samuel Farmer & Co, meanwhile, will explore the changing way in which young people identify with sexuality and gender, and how beauty brands can better appeal to younger consumers and develop a trusting relationship with them.
Personalisation in beauty and cosmetics is another area that will be covered at the Paris event, with founder and nose at Experimental Perfume Lab Emmanuelle Moeglin expected to speak about how “the need for individuality has never been greater in a world of mass consumerism where everyone has access to the same products”.
Cosmetics Design Europe noted that the event will also address some more technical trends in cosmetics development, such as how to substantiate claims relating to anti-pollution and blue-light products for instance.
There will also be several seminars focusing on the skin microbiome, in relation to everything from ingredient selection to product development and marketing.
