When you move into a new home, you might expect to find the odd thing that the previous residents have left behind. But it seems that some people leave weird and wonderful items behind when they move out.
The Sun recently shared stories from a forum on Mumsnet, where women revealed some of the most bizarre things they’d discovered when moving into a new property.
One lady kicked things off by revealing that she’d found a sheep’s skull hanging on the back of a bedroom door, and asked other people to share their stories of moving day.
What followed was a thread full of weird finds, including a glass fishbowl containing the gravel and a series of Magnum sticks, and a stuffed bird.
One Mumsnet user also revealed that they found syringes, needles and animal hearts in large test tubes when they moved into their new property, although added that the previous resident had been a doctor, which goes some way to explaining things.
It wasn’t only odd things that people found – some even discovered hidden rooms or cupboards after moving in. One person revealed that they found a cupboard behind a mirror months after moving in, while another said that their architect noticed a void on the floor plans and when they knocked through a wall, they found a room full of clothing and shoes.
If you’re organising removals in Bournemouth, give yourself plenty of time to pack things up so you don’t forget anything important when you move home.
Research carried out by Strutt & Parker recently found that the main motivator for moving was to have a more relaxed and accessible lifestyle, so make sure you don’t start off with any unnecessary stress as a result of failing to plan your move properly.
