If you thought that online gambling was going to be the death of the casino industry, it seems you were mistaken – as a host of new casinos are expected to be built in Las Vegas over the next few years, a surefire sign that gambling in real life is not only here to stay but expected to become even more popular as time goes on.

Some of the newest casino openings on The Strip have just been featured by Business Matters magazine, including Resorts World Las Vegas which is expected to open its doors in summer 2021.

It’s thought that this will be the most expensive casino ever to have been built in Vegas, with Malaysian firm Genting behind the development. The site will have a 5,000 seat theatre, 3,500 hotel rooms, a 75,000 sq/ft nightclub and a 220,000 sq/ft pool area.

And then there’s The Drew, a new development in the same location as the El Rancho Hotel and Casino. Construction actually began in 2007, but it’s thought it will be finished in 2022 – with the site set to be the biggest building in the entire state of Nevada.

Of course, there’s not much call for real-life gambling at the moment because of the global lockdown to help slow the spread of coronavirus… although Paradise Co has just reopened one of its sites on Jeju Island – the Jeju Grand – albeit only accessible to foreigners with a foreign passport.

According to Gambling Insider, some believe the move to be a way of outrunning competitors following a drop in revenue over the last few years.
